What is BizTalk RFID?

As a Microsoft middleware product, BizTalk enables faster enterprise application integration within a Microsoft platform and provides a uniform interface for communication and management of RFID hardware devices. BizTalk is an innovative device management and event platform at the edge of the enterprise was developed to make RFID devices plug and play.

What is a Device Provider?

Within BizTalk, the device provider enables seamless integration between the reader and the BizTalk RFID software infrastructure. This device provider is similar to having a software driver embedded in Microsoft’s operating system as is the case with printers, scanners and other peripherals.

What Sirit products support BizTalk RFID?

Sirit’s INfinity™ 510 UHF reader supports BizTalk RFID. Sirit's RFID readers are well-known for their multi-protocol agility, multi-regional flexibility, and programmability. They read all EPC compliant tags and are backed by industry certifications of interoperability and compliance with industry standards. Our high-performance INfinity 510 readers provide maximum flexibility in configuration, a user-friendly interface, along with extensive documentation.

How does the Sirit INfinity 510 reader interact with the device provider?
The device provider for the Infinity 510 allows for the BizTalk RFID Services to communicate with Sirit INfinity 510 Reader. Once installed, the user can use the RFID Manager tool to configure and bind to processes one or more physical Infinity 510 Readers. Applications can then be executed that communicate with the reader through synchronous commands. Components can be installed in a process chain that understand and receive event notifications from the reader. This allows for integration of the INfinity 510 readers into complicated RFID systems which currently run using the BizTalk RFID Services.

What are the prerequisites to install the provider?
Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2, RC1 with RFID Services needs to be installed before the provider can be installed. For more information, please
